According to Talksport they have just announced that Kevin Keegan has left the club...

Not sure on all the details but I'm sure they will all emerge later on in the day...........

All bets on who will be the first managerial casualty of the season have been suspended.

The only reason i can think of why he'd walk is that he hasn't been given money to spend and now with Man City spending huge money he probably thinks there is no chance of achieving big things in the league so whasts the point.

For some reason i had a feeling last night Levy would feel that way sell half our team and then sell up the club as there is no way we can compete with a club doing buissness like it looks like City will.

I'm sure Newcatlr fans were hoping for some better more recognised signings and i'm sure Keegan was aswell.

We Shall wait and see though, still no confirmation so could all be bull.

nothing on skysports yet. Wouldnt be suprised. The Milner deal was a strange one when he clearly didnt want to sell him.

From the Transfers and Rumours thread...

Setanta

Quote:
There are rumours sweeping Tyneside that Kevin Keegan has walked out on Newcastle.

The Magpies have made a decent start to the season, but there have been murmurings of discontent behind the scenes.

James Milner’s departure to Aston Villa is believed to have upset Keegan, despite his assertion that the decision to sell was solely his.

Magpies owner Mike Ashley is also said to be far from happy with Keegan’s decision to keep faith with Joey Barton following his release from prison.

It has been claimed that a meeting took place on Monday, which had nothing to do with transfers. It has not been confirmed what was on the agenda, but reports on Tyneside claim Keegan has opted to step down.

There has been no confirmation on the subject, but setantasports.com will endeavour to keep you up to date on all the developments.

Disgrace if true. Disgrace if Dennis wise is the replacement.

Dennis Wise has become odds on favourite to become the new Newcastle manager.

What a shambles Newcastle are, appointing wrong manager after wrong manager, buying the wrong players time and time again and an erratic owner who will override anyone when he see's fit and has no clue at all.

You have to laugh.

It is just a rumour he hasn't walked yet. There is a good chance he has but nothing has been said yet.

[beep!] sake. Have to believe it's not true but it's an absolute disgrace if it's true.

Wise for KK - there'll be 5000 people at SJP on Satdee week if this happens.

and the prophecy of Steely Hill seems to have come true ...that Kevin Keegan would walk out on Newcastle within 6 months ....whether it was lack of money for players or other problems remains to be seen .

watching Sky Sports News is some of the funniest TV ive ever seen.

an assortment of fat poor unemployed geordies are outside the ground chanting keegan's name scrambling around not knowing what is going on!

they just showed Keegan's record in charge and that brought further laughs.

6 wins out of 21 games is pathetic and he should be sacked. as usual the idiot geordies are calling for Shearer. does their brain go above emotion ever? they live in a fantasy land where everything is rosy. the last thing the club needs is some washed up dullard like shearer in charge. if he is anything like his MOTD performances he is utterly clueless. his knowledge of players outside of Newcastle and the top four is laughable, his knowledge of tactics and general management is even more idiotic. when listening to him i wonder if he has even watched the games he comments on.

i pray Newcastle get shearer so they can become an even bigger joke. i need a good laugh.

when will Toon Fanatic Mr Ashley ditch his embarrassing 'King Kev' shirt in place of a 'Wisey' or 'Big Al' shirt? i imgaine they are knocking one up in the club shop as we speak.

my sides are starting to split

Some saying he's walked and some saying he's been sacked?

Alan Shearer knows absolutely nothing at all about football. I don't want Newcastle to do badly but it would be funny if they appointed Shearer just to see quite how terrible he will be as a manager. His co-commentators can't even hide their laughter at his lack of knowledge, he would send Newcastle into the Championship.

Laughing

I love Newcastle!
Their hierarchy make Tottenham's look semi-competent when they're about 'working their magic' - you can always rely on them for a laugh & to lighten up the mood in the cut-throat world of premiership football.

I hope Komedy Kev hasn't gone, the Geordie funfair detracts from the mess at White Hart Lane!

If Keegan has gone or not the fact that its taken the club so long to make a statement is a DISGRACE, even Keegan should take some of the blame for leaving the supporters in the dark.

The fans of the club have totally been disrespected.

The only thing that could possibly warrent this kind of thing is that Keegan has walked and the club have been trying to get him to stay.

It turns out Keegan was sacked or at least close to being sacked earlier on in the day. The owner then had to change his mind. The fat [beep!] must not have realised how the fans would have took the news. We still don't know whether Keegan will stay on as manager.

Kevin Keegan has walked out on Newcastle.....
