Do Toon fans require patience?

Without doubt
I am fed up hearing the "we should be a top 4 club as we have a big support" argument.

A top 4 position is the least of their worries after the departure of King Kev. If I was a Toon fan right now, I would be devastated not because Keegan has left, but because of why he left. First thing they need to do is get rid of Wise and Ashley.

Newcastle is a great club with a fantastic set of supporters but I can't see the club moving forward with Ashley at the helm.

The fans will undoubtedly remain patient with regards to a top four finish but it is understandable that they are venting their frustrations at the moment.

A big managerial appointment (of the Rijkaard calibre) may be the only thing to save Ashley's bacon.

You know what, i'm sick of outsiders who think we ALL demand a high finish in the league!!!
What are you basing this on?
I honestly don't know ANYONE who thinks we should be a top four team. I think i know more than most, as i come from the city.

edit: This better be happening to EVERYONE'S posts.

Thats the only thing that can happen. Ashley and his cronies (including Jimenez) have to go.

Also, i'm with JJ. I read a couple of NUFC forums and haven't seen anyone saying we'll finish top 4 (or even top 6).

i think it is the feeling of many people that Newcastle fans expect their team to do well and win trophies ...and that they are a big club .....i have no knowledge or sources to prove this is the case . I dont think it is wrong for Newcastle fans to want their club to do well or to win trophies , the arguments are usually when other fans ask what have Newcastle done in the last few 5 years to make them believe they can win something ...any fan of any club can say `we should be doing better` but they have to be realistic .

Newcastle would have to be performing consistently well in the league and reaching the later stages of the cup competitions to enable the fans to say they should be able to win things ...teams like Arsenal , Man Utd , Chelsea , Liverpool should all be winning trophies regularly ....all have proved they can consistently perform well in the league and all usually regularly reach the last 8 of the cup competitions .

The argument over whether Newcastle is a big club is tricky ....a 52,000 capacity or more does not make a club big ....i heard Malcolm Macdonald on the news comment about Kevin Keegan and saying a big club like Newcastle should not be treating their fans or managers in that way .. people will argue forever about this question though .

Well officially i am of the opinion that most Newcastle fans i have heard `want` their club to do better and win trophies ...nothing wrong with that ......i think many people mistake that and think that they `expect` to win trophies ..
