Sheffield Wed vs Brentford (1-0)

Well it is a nice cwshty lead for Wednesday in this one. Both teams wil be pushing for the promotion, with Sheffield Wednesday wanting to get back as one of the big boys and Brentford to make another go of it in the play-offs, there allways there or there abouts.

Hartlepool vs Tranmere (2-0)

Well Adam Boyds two goals for Hartlepool give them a big and cwshti advantage against Tranmere in the second leg. Pool who failed in the semi's last year will be looking for second time lucky, and Tranmere who are a team who are allways there or there abouts will be trying to make it this year.

I beleive that it will be a Hartlepool vs Wednesday final. I think Hartlepool will win the battle of Cardiff then because they have mighty Adam Boyd. No affence to either team but I think whoever come up will go straight back down.

Come on you owls!

I'm worried as a wednesday fan that now that we're there people/players are going to start thinking we're favourites just becasue of the size of the club. Hopefully Sturrock will keep them settled. That boyd lad is their biggest threat but hopefully he can be marshalled unlike earlier in the season when he put three past us.
Whaever happens, at cardiff you won't be hearing any pools fans!
Hark Now hear the wednesday sing!

I thought Boyd was a great player, cardiff have put an inquiry in for him to bring him in here. As we have £650,000 spending money after WBA stayed up. I think you will have to look out for Peacock and Chris Marsden maybe Craig Rocastle.

Chris Marsden is practically dead, injuries have finally caught up with him and he has all but retired now. I would have thought he will play Chris Brunt who is technically very good but sometimes struggles with league 1's physical nature but given space he can open anyone up.
We are lacking strikers Peacock is big and strong but far from clinical but who knows that welsh air may do wonders.
Defence is strong, and Glenn Whelan commands our midfield, thats why Isaih Rankin tried to muller him in the first leg, (should have been sent off).
Our best talent is probably Paul Sturrock him seems to be able turn them around, and its often seen that a new team comes out in the second half.
WE MISS STEVE MACLEAN!
I hope we don't play Rocastle, i really don't rate him, but i hope he proves me wrong!!!!
Come on you owls!

Yeah you are definately favourites going into this game but there are still 90 minutes of football to be played.

Well so much for that, 2-0 Swansea and yet another season in League 1 for Brentford. How many times is this going to happen, third time in 4 years weve lost in the play offs...

How many do Barnsley usually get to a game? In here in Australia these leagues get no coverage so i only know whats going on through English websites. Dont Swansea get in excess of 12k at most games?

Congratulations to Barnsley..very well deserved,go and beat the Swans now lads

Barnsleys highest attendances this season were

16,127 v Huddersfield (play off leg 1)

13,063 v Huddersfield (league)

12,002 v Doncaster (league)

11,178 v Bradford (league)

10,663 v Southend (league)

10,080 v N Forest (league)

I agree Barnsley are a bigger club than Swansea,it was only 9 years ago they were in the premiership, and they are now back on the up thanks to Andy Ritchie and his staff

Ground looks very nice, a good old fashioned stadium Smile Also thanks for the crowd attendances, i suppose a few in there were alright but no doubt they will grow next year if they go up.

When we played them it was their last home game of the season so there was a pitch invasion. The home fans came right up to us, shouting abuse and throwing coins an stuff. It was caught on CCTV that someone through a snooker ball in towards the city fans.

It would be unfair of me to say I dont like all your fans, but I think the ones that were involved were out of order. So I dont not like all your fans, should have worded it differently.
