I know plenty of people don't, but i quite like Keane as a manager. Maybe beause we share a common contempt for Ferguson, who knows?

I thought when i saw Ipswich had sacked their manager and the list of favourites for the role, that it would be a good opportunity for Keane to return to management.

I do want him to do well, as I think he could be a decent manager. He seemed to be a bit fake when in charge of Sunderland. He kept a lid on his temper alot more than he did on the pitch and I don't think it helps the players as they all know he wants to shout at them and when he doesn't it might be a bit odd for them. I'd like him to show his true colours when in charge of Ipswich, shout at a few people who aren't playing so well or generally just need a kick up the backside.

Roy Keane is a terrible manager.

Tactically inept, no idea about man management, and absolutely clueless in the transfer window.

He blow £80m at Sunderland in 2 seasons, and what do they have to show for it? Tottenham in particular used him to offload their dross for a profit. The guy is a bloody fool.

The way he burns through money, Ipswich are going to need that Billianiare owner!

I hope Keane falls flat on his face again. Poor manager.

What worse, is you keeping eharing all these Ipswich fans gonig on about what a great appointment it is, and they talk about what he's done in football and his time at Man U. It all means nothing. This is management, his playing career means bugger all.

To be fair though he diid win the Championship with Sunderland and led them into the Premier League

I agree that he does seem to lack man management skills and his transfer signings are just terrible!

It will be an interesting time in the championship next season having Roy Keane as one of the managers!

Like Sticky said though he bankrolled them into the Premier League. He spent unbelivable amounts of money for a Championship team and also I believe wages were astronomical also.

How many years has he been a manager though? The man is learning.

The board at Sunderland are the ones that need shooting for giving a completely inexperienced manager bucket loads of money to throw around.

I don't think it is fair to say Roy Keane is a terrible manager, yet anyway. If a young player gets a chance in the first team and he doesn't peform well you don't say he is terrible you say he is still learning his trade and he is given longer. I know Keane has had a few years to get used to it but I think the right time to judge Keane as a manager is when he has had 4-5 years as a manager and I think it should be the same for all young managers. I think he may be a decent manager but I very much doubt he will be good enough or successful enough to manage a top club.

I very much agree. I agree he probably wouldnt be able to manage a top club, unless he took a club to the top himself............
