Ajax have signed Roger García Junyent. The contract with Roger will run for one year, starting on 1 juli 2006.
Roger, 29 years old, comes from Villarreal. The left midfielder started his career at the FC Barcelona youth academy at the age of 9. He made his debut for the first team of the Spanish club in 1995. With Barcelona he won two national championships, two national Cups, the Spanish ánd European Super Cup as well as the European Cupwinners' Cup. In 1999 he left to Espanyol, where he played for four seasons and among others won the Spanish Cup. In 2003 he moved to Villarreal. Roger has played a total of 247 matches in the Primera Division.
