If Portugal control the midfield, I think they will put a strong rhythm to the game and try to nail the french.
Portugal is very fast from defense to attack. Maniche, Deco, Ronaldo, Figo and Miguel are very fast in counter-attack.
And since I don't believe that France will play all behind de ball (as England or Mexico against PT), I think will be a very good game.

Oh well, that's all right then Shocked

Either your sense of irony is so subtle as to go over my head, or you are one thick fascist [beep!].

(Apologies, mods, but you really ought to ban this individual - there's a big difference between racism and the excessive patriotism that football can stir up - and this idiot is a racist pure and simple.)

Well the way France are playing at the moment, I would have to say they have exceeded everyones expectations and stand a better chance than Portugal to go through, they are playing in a coordinated fashion and seem to play well as a team now , hardly reflective of their initial performances. Then again the same was said for Spain before the France match only they had played well in their initial matches and that didn't get them anywhere. Anything is possible as neither Portugal or France is playing outstanding football. I wish Portugal luck and hope they can put France away.

(Mods, if you will permit me, I have to reply to this individual's inappropriate remark (please note I am not using foul language unlike some of these other individuals). Johnny-English don't be so simple minded. Belittling someone because of their beliefs and assuming they have a level of little intelligence is true ignorance - Mr Canada started the tirade so I finish it in true fascist fashion, much better than a regular insult like the one made by yourself which had to be edited, mine is there for all to see! I hope the Portugal's victory.
Deco and Costinha are both back to the team and that make us stronger than we were against England.
France has a excellent team with Zidane in good fit as Henry and Ribery. I hope our defence dont let them play their football, a thing that Brazil couldn't done.
It will be a tough match and portugal will won.... I hope Razz

The french players know many about the portuguese team. They know that we play hard and agressive,we cheat and dive. They know our history and so on.And more important they know that we have a good footbal player called Scolari.

Yes people they are prepared to face Portugal.

oh.And what is the position that Scolari play? Goolkeeper? Another?

I'm beginning to detect excessive confidence in the French camp. I think we might be able to win this. For pure joy I hope Miguel scores followed by a goal from Luis Boa Morte and Costinha. Just so that a certain ridiculous figure on this thread... can snarl in his own absolute horror of seing black players and black atheletes rise above the rest.

He used to be a centre-back but that was back in the 70's. Ribery probably smoked some grass before the press conference.

Thank you France for that game against Brazil.

Wonderful, Zidane is a hero. If there's one team I would cheer for If Germany gets eliminated today against Italy, it's gonna be France.

Damn! I'm starting to stress, don't know how it is for you, portuguese and french supporters! Confused How can you manage the stress? So long! I just want to be at the end of that match now... No friends today, I'm with my parents, but I think I should go out and watch that match on giant screens with other people in the street, or my nerves won't resist Confused

I somehow manage to control the stress better when I'm at home than when I'm among the crowd in front of a giant screen. Because, when I'm with my friends, I tend to let it all out and consequently get even more nervous. Razz
Anyway, the excitement of being with many people, altogether supporting the same team, overcomes my needs for tranquility, so in 2 hours I'll be in my city's park watching the match and hoping that Portugal wins. Wink
