After a successful world cup campaign the second season of the A-League is due to start in July.

It starts with the Pre Season Cup in July before the real stuff in August.

There is a heap of excitment in Oz after a good World Cup campaign (Although none of us are going to eat Pizza or Pasta for a while)

Bring on the season!!!

Melbourne Victory Champions in waiting..

For all you scots Breber has been doing great guns down here... expecting to hear anytime of his offical signings... Victory now has prob the most international flavour of the A- League with 3 Brazlians, 1 Belgium and a Scot Smile..

Also Asia Cup Qualifiers.... so plenty of football upcoming.

Glory v Adelaide report...

Quote:
Perth Glory and Adelaide United have fought out an entertaining 0-0 draw in round three of the Hyundai A-League Pre-Season Cup at Dorrien Gardens on Sunday.

In Ron Smith's first game in charge of the Glory, both sides created plenty of chances throughout the afternoon but just lacked the finishing touches in a match that also marked the highly-anticipated debut of Qantas Socceroo Stan Lazaridis.

The inclusion of Lazaridis was a huge boost for Perth, who was without Jamie Coyne (abdomen), Simon Colosimo (knee), Jeremy Christie (knee) and Jason Petkovic (ankle), while Adelaide was also without the services of a number of key players, including Shengqing Qu, who is yet to arrive in Australia.

The draw leaves Adelaide two points behind ladder-leader Central Coast in group A, while Perth remains in third spot with two draws to its name.

After a tentative start by both sides, the tempo was lifted and Perth took control of the early going with Leo Bertos wreaking havoc down the right wing.

Adrian Webster found himself in the open outside Adelaide's box in the 19th minute and fired in a powerful shot, but the ball flew just wide of United keeper Robert Bajic's right goal post.

The visitors created a good chance in the 25th minute when Carl Veart found himself with possession of the ball after a goal-mouth scramble, but his rushed shot could not find its way through a number of defenders and was deflected well over the crossbar.

Adelaide's Matthew Kemp was celebrating seven minutes later after 17-year-old Perth keeper Aleks Vrteski fumbled a long-range shot from Travis Dodd and Kemp tapped in the ensuing crumb but offside had been called.

Lazaridis was in the thick of the action late in the half and sent in a number of good crosses, but it was to no avail.

United came out fired up after the break and almost went ahead in the 55th minute when Jason Spagnuolo's corner kick took a number of deflections before hitting the crossbar.

Two minutes later, Adelaide coach John Kosmina flagged his attacking intentions by bringing on striker Nathan Burns, and the 18-year-old should have scored with his first touch after a well-timed run into the box left him one-on-one with the keeper, but his right-foot shot was easily saved by Vrteski.

The game had opened up and opportunities were presenting for both sides, and David Micevski had his thunderbolt strike from 25 metres out parried over the bar by Bajic.

Lazaridis was given a rousing reception by the 3,038 crowd when he was taken off in the 72nd minute and was replaced by veteran Bobby Despotovski.

Adelaide made some late attacking thrusts in a bid to win the game, but the Glory's defence held firm until the final whistle.

Perth Glory 0
Adelaide United 0
Crowd: 3038 at Dorrien Gardens, West Perth
