Well I've read of of the posts in this thread and its given me the opinion there are alot of sick deluded people out there. To all you Scots. Where would you be without England? Scotland we support your economy for crist sake, the richest part in Britain funds Scotland. Who payed for your parliament building? Well, not the Scots thats for sure. A nation with one of the highest unemployment rates to population in Europe. How do I know all this? Its even in the national curriculum taught in...Scotland.

The kid who wrote this thread in my opinion is as stupid as I'm afraid you can get. You can discuss us being a boring and dull side all you like I doesn't hide the fact England put in a battling performance yesterday only to be dumped out again on penalties. What I get so irritated about is the discrimination towards England as a country regardless of the football.

So much that he has the ordacity to write "lets bomb them."

This makes me sick. The jealousy conveyed toward England from many here is unbelievable. The fact that we don't laugh at our failure is simple. We achieve. We are at the the finals, we were in the quarters and we were a shoot-out away from the semis. Whereas others crash out pathetically in qualifying. You only laugh at your misfortunes to stop yourselves crying I'm afraid.

No doubt there is arrogance from English here, but also from Scots/ Irish as they enjoy English misfortunes and are quick to judge dispite being in no position to. I have been sitting listening to pointless antagonistic posts with no purpose and no good footballing discussion only in an attempt to frustrate.

There are good members here who I have spoken to that are so sick of it they totally ignore the world cup section. Now in my opinion I agree we were nagative, I blame Sven for this. We didn't deserve to win the way we played and in the end penalties was our downfall.

with members like you around do you wonder why?

English football is everything but boring.

Even if they play conservative and uncreative like under Eriksson they always set high pace and play with engagement. The last game against Portugal was very good, imo.

And English player is the last one to lay on the grass crying to heavens cause someone scratched his a.s.s., like almost every other do.

I like the English football. Premiere League games for example are much more interesting than continental league games.

English players just don't dive and cheat that much as for example italians do, they play tough.

I think many agree with me that England was the most boring team of the tournament.

(I cant imagine many countries being too bothered about our exit thats true. Portugal isnt that small a nation, plus as long as you have a populous of over 40,000 then the size of your country doesnt matter in footballing terms, more important is the mentality of the nation)

(Britain is only 20 miles from France at the nearest point so you could hardly say we are adrift in the Atlantic. Indigenous people of Britain are decended primerily from either scandenavia, france, germany or italy. Genetically and culterally we are European. Furthermore it is cold and rainy not foggy, if your gonna unsult our weather)

imho England didn't perform all that well and their press and fans (in general, not all) certainly have their mouths well above the quality of the team...not that the team is bad...just isn't the best in the world...neither is Rooney...

Dull and boring depends on the point of view.There weren't many goals but they were certainly exciting for the fans of England and their oponents (for me it was wayyyy to exciting, my heart was bouncing all arround in the extra time and penaltys!)

The only point i see about this topic is the mostly abuse direct throws, not only when they were outnumbered against Portugal but they do it often and they depend way to much on set pieces, and so it's not all that pretty to watch.
Gerrard and Lampard are much alike....they help defending but none is a true defensive midfielder, they don't get back enough balls in the midfield. I think that's why Sven played Hargreaves, with some results, but left Rooney unsupported
Beckham can't get to the final line and cross...he does throws long balls over and over, Joe Cole had his moments but not enough...he disappeared from games...and Rooney was little danger alone.
