Yes France defended their lead, as has been done by many teams in this tournament but you werent good enough to break them down.

Yesterday we saw a very good semi final with two teams who gave everything, played a very fair game, helped by a referee who ignored FIFA directives and made it clear that there was no point diving because he wasn't going to give any but the clearest fouls.

Today we saw a less good game. Yes, France did defend with 11, or ten at least, in the second half, but Portugal did nothing to really trouble them and the diving from Portugal - not just Ronaldo, but Pauleta and Postiga too, was so ridiculous it was embarrasing. I've always liked Portugal as a football team - I'm old enough to remember Eusebio in 1966, and always like to see them do well (students of history will know that Portugal is England's oldest ally too), but tonight Portugal got what they deserved, nothing.

Ribery did do one obvious dive early in the game. I can't remember too many others from France. Henry made sure the ref saw Carvalho's foul for the penalty, but I think it was a foul all the same.

Anyway, you made the semi-finals, we didn't; you deserved to, we didn't and, even if it doesn't feel so good tonight, you can look back on this world cup with more pleasure and pride than us, so well done!

I have watched that replay many times now and to give you my honest view, I think it is hard to tell if he meant it or not! I dont believe we will ever know for sure. I was going to go on and give the pros and cons to this argument but i think this subjects already been done to death!

Tsubasa nobody is anti-Portugal, but dont like how they approach the game. People just dont like to see your teams attitude. Maybe next time they will do fair play and if they do that everyone will like them!!!!

One of my favorite teams in the tournament was the Ivory Coast, exciting games!!
