As usual the Portugal players and fans can't take constructive critisism. Nobodys asking for them to be expelled, if you used that ruling half the teams (probably most would not be able to play). Portugal are the best (or should that be the worst!)exponents of diving, in what is a competition that has massive world exposure.
How clever is it? You must question some of these players inteligence. To try and con the Ref is one thing, but to try and con a myriad of TV cameras viewing them at every conceivable angle, as well as several million viewers. Most of the must be as thick as they look.
All that is needed is a Ref with the bottle to red card any diving player and it would soon stop. There should also be a video committee to fine players who endulge in what is blatently cheating retrospectively. Hit these con men where it hurts them most.

We are bad, that is your opinion. I accept it. But we were in the semi-finals because of our goals, not because some referee marked a bad penalty and gave vantage to some team!!! Did you all for instance realized that some very well behaved (yeah Rolling Eyes ) teams were in the quarters and semi-finals because they benefit referee´s errors? Are we the one´s that cheat?

I'm not sure what is the point of going on about this all the time. Yes, some Portuguese players dive, but so do players from every country in the world cup, England included. Maybe Portugal dive more than most other teams, but that isn't why they got to the semi-final. Holland and England didn't lose to Potugal because of Portuguese diving; they lost because they weren't good enough to score a goal against them.

Rooney didn't get sent off because of anything Ronaldo did or didn't do - he got sent off because he is a thick little thug who couldn't control his temper; end of story. To be honest, I don't think it made much difference - we didn't look any more likely to score while we had eleven than we did with ten. Basically, we were C R A P.

It's like the infamous Ronaldo wink. We say that he is winking to say "look, I got him sent off", because that is what we want to believe. I think a more likely reason is that he told his team mates before the game that if you wind Rooney up he is likely to lose it and do something stupid, and so his wink just meant "I told you so".

I think it's pathetic that so many England fans swallow all the hype around our team and desperately cling to a belief that we are out because of foreign cheating; we are out because we played about as well as Switzerland and, as a team, forget about how good or not the individuals are, we don't hack it with the real big boys.

P.S. If you're looking for the champion diver in this world cup, forget the Portuguese and watch Signor Perrotta - the guy clearly has an inner-ear problem.

If Sepp Blatter is serious about the fair play then he should give Cristiano Ronaldo a suspension of some sort.

How about suspending Peter C. too? He scored a goal by pulling a T&T player's hair

What's your constructive argument anyway? I don't see such anger about Germany's Diving freekick that resulted in their 2nd goal

Honestly, all of this "you only won because you cheat" is getting really old really fast.

Let's cut the crap, shall we? Tell me one team that didn't dive. Tell me one team that didn't give it a try to get a free kick when there wasn't a foul. But don't sweat it, because I don't really think there is one team as pure and as well intended as that.

Now, can you blame the players of an opposite for giving it a shot, when your team itself does *precisely* the exact same thing? No, you can't. Or you can, but you're a hypocrate (and if you are, I salute you for admitting to be one on a public message board!).

And all this "but you cheat more" talk...come one! Cheating is cheating, and that's all there is to it! To me, someone who cheats twice on the SO is exactly the same as someone who cheats 10 times. The morality beneath it is exacly the same.

If a player falls because of a draft and the ref happens to consider it a foul, then, it's probably the ref's fault too, right?

And you are saying the French didn't dive? Or England never dived for that matter? Just because you are a fan of one team doesn't mean your team doesn't dive either. Realistically all players dive.

Can't believe you missed the French dive even tho you watched the games 11 times? That was a good one as it earnt the team a penalty. You need a different angle?

.

true. i was a little [beep!] off, since they done it, but well, they all do it anyway.. the referee should have seen the other penalty some minutes but he didn't.. anyway congratulations to france, especially zidade..

Should CHEATING PORTUGAL be EXPELED from any cup ?
