Scott Leitch has added a further two players to the Ross County squad as the team prepare for the new season ahead. The two players Michael Gardyne and Gary Irvine both from Celtic have joined the club on a six month loan spell.
20-year-old Michael Gardyne also known as "Midge" is described as an attacking midfield player, who plays with an aggressive attitude. Although he failed to earn a place in the Celtic first team he was included in several of Gordon Strachan's squads last season and did play in quite a few of the pre-season games last season as well as a couple of the end of season friendlies Celtic played in England.
Gary Irvine was also capped for Scotland at U19 level and is likely to be included in this season's Under 21 natioal team. Gary comes from a good pedigree in that he is the nephew of former County defender Brian Irvine. The 21-year-old player was voted "most promising player" at Celtic in season 2004/5. He looked set to be Celtic's favoured choice of players to fill the right back slot at the start of last season as he played all the club pre-season games there, but as the season started he broke a bone in his foot and found himself behind both Paul Telfer and Mark Wilson for the right back position.
These players will be included in the Ross County first team which plays the first pre-season match this Saturday (8th July) at Nairn County's Station Park, and they will be joined by the other new recruits - defender Alex Keddie and goalkeeper Craig Samson.
