Lyon fans (if there are any on this forum) how would you guys feel if Houllier left, would he be missed? He did a good job in carrying on where Le Guen left off by winning another league trophy (I think thats 4 in a row). If he left who would you like to replace him with, possibly Wenger? (maybe he wants a frsh challenge) Also who would you like to see brought in and sold on and who will be your main title challengers this year (or will you walk away with it as that seems to happen a lot recently). Good luck for next season I am a Newcastle fan who follows all football.

i am french and i support Arsenal but i really like lyon and it would be a disaster if he went( which he wouldnt because hes only been at the club for a year so he wouldn go because he had been very good for lyon that season he had done a good job of keeping the titles with pressure on him and i would like cisse to come to lyon and ribery(or Arsenal). The main challengers are marseille next season they have improved so much!

Ive been watching Lyon in the Champions League the last few seasons & they've really impressed & I watched most of there games in the French League last season & they are a very good team with great excitng players like Fred,Wiltord,Juninho,Diarra,Crew etc..... I dont know if too many people would be very upset if Houllier did leave. He's won the league the last 2 seasons with them but they had already won it 3 or 4 times in a row before he came, but saying that they never really looked like much Europe till he came & since he's arrived they look like one of the best teams in Europe & Im tipping them to win the Champions League next year.

Thats a great tip I bet they are long odds compared to the likes of Barca Chelsea Real etc and they thrashed Real and drew at the Bernabeau they seem to me like a fast powerful side and I think they have a great chacne of winning it, mind you I thought that last year the Champions League is so unpredictable.

Theyve come close in the past 2 seasons, they deserved to beat Milan last year in the quarter finals but lost 2 goals in stoppage time and the year before they lost to PSV on penalties in the quarter finals.
Patrick Viera and David trezaguet are expected to join them not after Juve got relegated. That can only benifit them really. They look really strong for next season |

Lyon have no competition in ligue 1 : they won 5 in a row and will carry on this season
Houllier is starting his second season with the club and just had a contract extension, he was on a two year with automatic extension should he win the title. The back-room staff is very important there : Joel Bats GK trainer Bernard Lacombe DOF and Robert Duverne physical preparation highly rated and credited for the France runner-up final place in the Wc for his excellent job. |

What a display in Bucarest last night ! Our team is scary to watch, they were all over the place, Juninho was involved in all 3 goals scored and we wer gratified with a standing ovation afetr Benzema scored the third, rara enough in nowadays football to be noticed.
After we slaughtered Lille last weekend (4-1), it Sochaux away this weekend and they probably start to wonder how they can manage such a furia.. Any questions about our club, squad, staf and fans I'm your man. I precise that Houllier gets an automatic contract extension if we qualify for the Champion's League at the end of the domestic campaign, it's nothing to do with the title. However we bagged 19 points out of 21 possible so far and we are 3 points clear up the table. The BIG game is in a couple of weeks. We will entertain our historic best ennemy and neighbour Saint-Etienne on October 14th, got my ticket already and let's hope we can spank them as we did last year... 4-0 ! The following week we will be at Stade Velodrome in Marseilles for the VERY BIG game. Marseilles are second in the table, 3 points behind and they look solid this season. The fans hate each others and the highest authorities in both clubs do not exactly like each others... promising ! |

Another valuable away win at the weekend, thanks to a late Wiltord goal. The game in Sochaux was the fifth away game of the season for us and we took the 3 points for the fifth time... All in all 22 points out of 24 possible. 8 games played, 7 wins, one draw.
Crap game though, the weather conditions were disastrous and the pitch looked more like a gigantic pond than a proper football pitch. Obviously those sorts of conditions are not good for the football we usually play. Still tho, it's three points and Marseilles had the pressure last night. They needed a win to keep their grip on the competition and so they did. Marseilles 3 - Toulouse 0. Full table : http://www.olweb.fr/index.php?lng=fr&pid=106001 |

I like the look of this new guy they brought in Toulalan. Ive only seen him play 3 times this season, but each time ive seen him play he's been pure quality looks even better than Diarra in my opinion. What do u think off him Midfield? would like to hear an opinion from a fan who gets to see him more often

We tried to sign him from Nantes in the previous transfer window in the summer 2005 but Nantes hanged on to him. I was really glad when we signed as I rate him as a future european football star. A clever defensive midfield, really the guy knows his football. He's tough and powerful, skifull with the ball and also delivers good crosses. Not mentioning the odd goal here and there he will occasionally score comes the opportunity. It was difficult to figure out a replacement for Mahmadou "Djila" Diarra but Toulalan confirms quietly game after game that he could be THE man. Also, it is very easy for newcommers to fit in the OL team, new recruits all praise the fact that the adaptation is made very easy by the overall quality of the team. Källström is a Swede we also signed in the summer (from Rennes) and he's doing well too. Very creative, a perfect replacement when Juninho is rested or suspended. The only "bizarre" signing is Squilacci, a central defender from Monaco. I really don't like him, not bad at defending but he never knows what to do with the ball. His season so far confirms what I thought of him, he's not good enough. |

As long as they keep themselves excited but leave us the title in the end, it will be tastier. Just to make sure it is very clear between you guys and me : I hate Marseille ! There's only one "Olympique"... Olympique Lyonnais !!! |

Yep thats the one. To be honest I dont think they really need any more players they have quality in pretty much every posistoin of the pitch |

If there is a weakness it has to be on the right side. I don't rate Réveillère or Clerc as top defenders and we can do better than Govou or Wiltord on the right wing. |

You talkin to me ?! Who are you talkin about ? Anyway, it's one of the highlight of the season on Saturday... Olympique Lyonnais vs AS Saint Etienne. One of the hotest game in France as we just simply hate each other. The fans hate each others and the boards hate each other. A good sparring partner before we go to Kiev during the week and then to Marseilles a week on Sunday... Coupet, Muller, Caçapa (and perhaps Tiago and Govou) are all out because of injury. Fred is suspended but our opponent (4th on the table) won't come at Gerland with their fully fit team either. Got my ticket (YESSS!!) and hopefully we gonna murder them as we did last year (4-0)... |
