Yeah true they really need revising but until FIFA actually do a proper system its all we have.

Australia are a footballing nation. I never said they were a big nation but there was potential for us to become a big nation, we have the players, we are starting to get the coaches (Hiddink, Verbeek). Quarter finals is a minimum for Australia in 2010. 2014 and 2018 I expect a final or maybe even a win. Well not really 2014 cause that'll be Brazil's considering its on home turf.

Would you mind naming me the young stars in S�o Paulo and their first XI? If you call yourself a fan you should be able to do it without consulting any website nor googleing it

And dont take this personal mate but I think you're absurdly deluded with your national team. Australia has certainly improved and its not the sparring it used to be some years ago anymore, but I think you're as close of winning a World Cup as is say Fulham of winning a Champions League (nothing against Fulham)

Breno was a hot young talent before being sold to bayern, Dagoberto is still with the club, a great striker. Adriano and Rogerio Ceni despite not being the youngest players are still great assests to the club, Adriano is only new though since moving on loan from Inter Milan but made an impact on debut with 2 great goals. There are more players to name but at the moment I can't think of them and like you said I can't use google or any other website.

I am not saying Australia will win a World Cup immediately. 10 years we will win it or get close is all i'm saying, the players we have coming through are brilliant, even in todays paper there was an article about Barcelona making a $2M bid for Adelaide striker Nathan Burns. The big clubs know these players potential and are all racing for their signatures. Even Reading have a future Socceroo or two, Adam Federici isn't of that standard yet but I remember playing with Oliver Bozanic for NSW and after most games his agent would be telling him "scouts from ________ were here today" or "there is someone from _______ i'd like you to meet".

Hey am I a glory hunter? I was watching for a few years as a neutral and always like Internacional's style but settled on Sao Paulo because of the goalkeeping prowess of Rogerio Ceni. He is one of the true greats of Brazilian football and is also good for a goal Very Happy

Not who is better but about Austrlaia's standard compared to Brazil's. Not saying they're even close yet, but in the future quite possibly Austrlaia could be up there with some of the best. You didnt mention the biggest names Hernanes, Roni (16yo, was on the bench against Mar�lia), Richarlyson (this one played for Brazil against Ireland!!) and Alex Silva (also had some caps for Brazil) !! Sorry but if you couldnt remember these names its most likely that you wont know the others. And yes youre a glory hunter! You said you were watchin as a neutral and what a coincidence! S�o Paulo started to win everything and you picked them as your team... :p

mate dont take this as personal. I have nothing against Australia, its an amazing country and to be honest I rooted for you guys advance with us in the group in Germany 06. Its just that...well...when its about football, you guys should stick with cricket and rugby

Brazil & Argentina swap regulary I beleive whereas France were top for a while a few years ago

I think within 20 years Australia will have caught up with England.I'm serious.English kids just don't play sport anymore.There will be a massive shortage of talent here for a long time.

Kids' priorities in 2008 in order:

Playstation
crisps
cider/lager
weed
gangs/knives/guns
more Playstation
sports

Australia hasn't gone this way so much yet.Over there you're still a ponce if you're crap at sports.English kids no longer have this pressure,which is a pity because they're becoming fat,shameless layabouts.Anybody who wants to play footy on the street (essential in footballing development) cannot do so anymore due to fear and jobsworths.You never see kids playing football in the streets anymore.Hell,even in my day (I'm only 21!!!), you saw it all the time.

There's a very good reason why Australia are much better than us at rugby and cricket and you can expect this to extend to football within the next 20 years.

Yeah Kimi, i know what you mean. I useed to always play football on the streets when i was younger. EVERYONE did. Even the little fat kids who were useless. They did so because everyone else did. And often we would all go to the park and have massive games. Now though, the people that i grew up with never do. I occasionally go to the park a play football, but i usually end up playing with little kids. Rarely will there be a lot of older teenagers. Never will there be a game consisting solely of older teenagers. There always has to be little kids to make up the numbers.

People just stop playing when they get older. As soon as they leave school at about 16 that's it, they stop playing. One of my best mates used to always play, but now he think he has ''grown out of football''. He thinks he is too old. I couldn't believe it. How [beep!] pathetic.

Everyday kids in Australia play football.

No matter where you go between 3:30pm and 9:00pm when the lights at the fields go out kids will be playing football with their mates, with their parents etc.

Me and Toby (Pommie#7) are always down at Elizabeth Park, its probably the only place we really hang out and we're always kicking a football around trying new things and improving as players.
