Laporta: Eto'o not for sale |
|
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has insisted he will never sell striker Samuel Eto'o, despite rumours of interest from Chelsea.
Eto'o has won the championship with Barca in his first season at the Nou Camp and is currently the top scorer in the Primera Division. There has been speculation that the Blues are keen to bring in the Cameroon international and are prepared to offer William Gallas and Hernan Crespo in exchange. "Samuel is not for sale, not even for all the money in the world," said Laporta. "He is a Barcelona player and will give many years of joy to the club. On top of this, the Cules (Barca fans) have taken him to their hearts." Meanwhile, Barca coach Frank Rijkaard claims that new signing Mark van Bommel will bring a fighting spirit to the team. Van Bommel has agreed a three-year deal with the Catalan giants and will join up with the club this summer when his contract at PSV Eindhoven runs out. "He is a team player who has a winning mentality," said the Dutchman of his 28-year-old compatriot. "He is also able to get into the box and score goals. "Barca have been following him for a long time but now it appears as though it is the best time to sign him. "He understands what will be wanted of him on the pitch and Van Bommel is able to play as much on the right as the left while also in the middle where I see him playing most. "He is going through a good moment and I think that he is a player that will help us to achieve our goals. "He will be well received, I do not know whether he has had offers from other clubs, but he has decided to come to Barca." |

I hope he goes to Chelsea to be honest, we need a great striker, either him or Adriano would be great.
LaPorta will sell him if he gets a profit though... |

Doubt it, he would get slaughtered. Why would Eto'o go to Chelsea, he just got to Barca and loves it!
