Football Federation Australia has welcomed the news that has ratified two Australian clubs will participate in the 2007 edition of the Asian Champions League.
While details of how these teams will be determined still needs to be agreed by the FFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the two teams will definitely come from the Hyundai A-League.
“This is great news for the Hyundai A-League,” said FFA Head of Operations, Mr Matt Carroll. “It now provides the teams with some extra motivation during their season.
“This is exciting times for the game in Australia and to have two teams now playing against the best club teams in Asia on a yearly basis, will only further increase the profile of the sport in this country.”
