Highly-rated Villarreal goalkeeper Jose Reina could be in line for his Spain debut after being named in Luis Aragones' 27-man squad to prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Reina, the 22-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper, has shone for Villarreal this season and has been linked with a summer move to Champions League finalists Liverpool. He will be battling Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas and veteran Valencia custodian Santiago Canizares for a place in the Spain team to face Lithuania on June 4 and Bosnia-Herzegovina four days later. Also included in the group are free-scoring Real Zaragoza striker David Villa, Espanyol talisman Raul Tamudo and Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who is back in action having recovered from a broken ankle. However, missing from the squad that recorded a goalless draw with Serbia & Montenegro in Spain's last World Cup qualifier in March are Juan Carlos Valeron, David Navarro, and Miguel Angel Mista.
