What i'm trying to do is set up a new football club from scratch. If you look at www.realwoody.co.uk , you'll have some idea of what i'm going on about. Basically everyone in the videos would be up for playing together in a team this coming season or the season after if its too late to enter into a league. Problem is though no-ones really getting the ball rolling so i've decided to take the initiative and get it sorted. I've already got 13 or so players that would play, i just need help in how to get everything else done, like finding a league for us in the Leeds area. We're all 17/18 so we'd be looking for a league for that age range. Also is 13 players big enough for a squad or will we need more?

I'm really quite a newb to all this, so any help would be great.

Cheers, Nathan.

Nathan, you may need more than 13 players for your club, also they must be totally committed to playing week in week out. You are probably too late for next season now depending on the league as a lot of leagues in my area have already had their AGM's. To find out contact details of leagues that operate in your area it may be useful looking in your local paper or by calling your county FA and ask them, if you need anymore advice just ask in a pm or summit. I hope you find this useful?

Thanks for all the info! So what size squad should i be looking to have? I think i've found a suitable league in the Leeds Combination Football League http://full-time.thefa.com/gen/AllTable.do?selectedSeason=8331986.

I've just started my own team in the wolves combination league (open age) and i'mtrying to get a squad of around 18 players to start the season with because after a while you'll find that some of the players aren't as committed as you'd like and they end up disappearing after a few games. You don't want to go into games without a full team.

Oh, one other thing....don't let players take their kit home. Make sure you get them back at the end of every match, otherwise you'll end up without half the kits midway through the season because people will lose them.

I would say a team of around 18-20 players will surfice. Also, I agree, DO NOT let the players take the kits home.

Good Luck fella
