Oldham defender Adam Griffin will not be joining Stockport after talks broke down between the two clubs, while The Latics have themselves failed in their attempt to sign Calum Elliot.
Stockport had made an official move for Latics stopper Griffin, but the League One outfit feel that their valuation of the player has not been met.
"Stockport were keen to take Adam on a permanent basis, and we asked for a small amount to cover a fraction of his development costs over the last six years," Oldham chief executive Alan Hardy told the club website.
"To protect the club's interests, we also requested a small sell-on clause. However, Stockpot County were unable to agree to these terms."
