Come on Gretna should be full of confidence they won 6-0 at the weekend against a quite good Hamilton team.

It should be a good game. I wouldnt be too dissapointed if Gretna won either. Derry have won 8 games in a row and Gretna have won about 5-0 every week for the last 2 years so it should be interesting! I was looking for tickets today but theyre all sold out already for Derrys home leg

Why have Gretna become so good all of a sudden? Has someone invested millions or something? I hope we don't get them in our group, they look like they can cause a few upsets.

Yeah there a good team lost the Scottish Cup fial on penaltys to scumy Hearts last year. They just buy like the best players from the division they are in really no top class players play well as a team thats how they win alot.

I saw the final and was disappointed for them. I see that Kenny Deuchar bangs in quite a few goals, is he their best player?

He hasnt been as good recently. When they were in the 3rd division he got something like 60 goals and last year he only got about 30. Still good but they have other good players too. Steve Tosh, James grady, Ryan mcGuffie all score about 25 goals every year too

Didn't wanna start a thread cause no one cares but i was just at my team's UEFA game and i left disappointed. APOEL 1 - Trabzonspor 1.

We were ahead from the 3rd minute after an absolute cracker by midfielder Ricardo Fernandez and we missed a penalty in the second half and we had 3-4 very good chances throughout the game. Also the ref only gave them a yellow card for a clear as daylight handball that would lead to a clear goalscoring opportunity for us. Unfortunately, they managed to equalise after 90 minutes with a free kick. That's football for you. We were by far the better team but now we have a mountain to climb when we go to Turkey.

Last year Anorthosis (another Cypriot team) surprised Trabzonspor and knocked them out of Europe and this year we're hoping to do the same, but that last minute goal will quite possibly cost us dearly.

We played Anorthosis last year in the 3rd qualifing of the CL quite a good team although we beat them it was a good game.

And they gave you a hard time in the mid 90s too, iirc.

What a win for Derry!! I expected them to win but I still thought Gretna would be tough to beat. And the quality of goals was amazing. The free kick was great and the last goal should be a contender for goal of the season. Although Im a Finn Harps fan(Derry being our biggest rivals) Im still glad they won and will be supporting them for as long as they stay in the Cup.

And for anyone who cares, the other irish team in the cup, Drogheda Utd lost 1-0 away to IK Start so they still have a good chance of qualifing too
