I think we need to sign 3 players before Thursday. Chimbonda, Downing and Mido. We need to balance the team out. Lee is not a good enough right back so Chimbonda would be the ideal replacement. We desperatly need a left midfielder and Downing suits the bill. Mido would be good to give the lazy looking Berbatov some competition up front.

Anyway, why do we need a central midfielder? That's one position in which we actually do have plenty of options.

Jenas, Davids, Zokora, Huddlestone, Tainio and Steed

Davids is inconsistent but apart from that, all of those players are good enough to start in the Prem week-in, week-out. Keano can even play at the attacking point of a diamond. I know that Steed is injured and that Jenas will have to play RM for the next 6 weeks but I still think we'll get by.

You mention Andy Johnson and I do like him a lot but I'm happy with the strikers we've got really. Having 2 big/2 small gives Jol a lot of options and if they can knock in a few and get their confidence up then Spurs will be lethal.

Overall, I think we have one of the most well-balanced teams in the league.

Why did he regret joining Spurs? Spurs was one of the main reasons why he won his place back in the England squad. Without the training from Spurs and us offering him Premiership football, he would not have achieved this as fast or maybe not at all.
