Steven Gerrard admits victory in tonight's
Champions League final will relaunch
Liverpool as a major force.
He had warned in December he would have to move on if the Reds had not convinced him they were making strides towards becoming genuine contenders once again.
The European run has done just that and he has given huge hints he is ready to sign a new £80,000-a-week deal after the final, even though Kop hearts will remain in mouths until he finally puts pen to paper.
Gerrard said: "This is not about Steven Gerrard, it is about
Liverpool and Milan. My future will be sorted out afterwards.
"It's so important for the future of
Liverpool to go and win it. Imagine how much it would help us in terms of attracting top-class players, plus the financial impact it has."
