He had warned in December he would have to move on if the Reds had not convinced him they were making strides towards becoming genuine contenders once again.
The European run has done just that and he has given huge hints he is ready to sign a new £80,000-a-week deal after the final, even though Kop hearts will remain in mouths until he finally puts pen to paper.
