I'm sorry i up this old topic, but i felt to reply to some stupid comments on here.
I know it's hard to not be biased when people talk about own national teams/clubs etc but it'd be better atelast to try to avoid to look pathetic.
Comments like "France > Italy, Italy > France, blablabla are childish "

France played better, they deserved to win. We've been lucky but also good in hold on tight and stay in match tho, we might have lost that match 4-0.
Unluckily Italian Serie A starts very late compared to other leagues, then if you add Calciopoli and all the scandals it was already much if Serie A even started. But let's not look at excuses.
Now with some of our KEY footballers who play in other leagues ( Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Toni and even Grosso ) and with Serie A starting the 3rd week of August instead of usual september we should have more preparation.
Btw for the World Cup final i don't understand how people can think France deserved it. This is not being biased but having an objective view of what happened during the match. First of all must remind that their penalty was a HUGE dive of Malouda. I've heard thousands of people whining and INSULTING Italy for that doubt dive of Grosso vs Australia, but i didn't heard anything about the action from the french player, who clearly diven to get the penalty without even touch Materazzi.
But well, such things happen everywhere... You have to think that being 0-1 in a World Cup final might have compromised everything for Italy, but in just 15 minutes we've been able to equalize the result with a great goal. After that we also hit the bar with Toni and still made pressure on french defense with shots with head.

Arsenal striker being the only one who has been able to dribble Cannavaro in the whole tournament. Probably there should have been a Penalty again on Malouda.
Then Toni scored the 2-1 but it was disallowed for a little passive offside of De Rossi.
During the extratime Zidane did a wonderful shot with head, simply class. Buffon saved with class too.. I have to admit that in ET we suffered a lot, with France constantly having the ball but apart the Zidane shot France weren't able to be concrete. Pirlo almost scored the winning goal with a great free kick, it was a matter of few cm if the ball didn't go in, tho i think Bartez was on the way to get it.
Then we all know what happened and what might have compromised the whole final, the crazy, stupid and totally not needed headbutt by zidane. I don't give a [beep!] what Materazzi might have said to him, he shouldn't have reacted that way. Nobody ever cared to what people say to each others, how weird when it was about Zidane it had to happen for the first time...
But well, at penalties we simple hit the ball perfectly. 5 perfect penalties, 5 great goals.
We hit the bar, we had a disallowed goal, we almost scored with Pirlo and again with Materazzi, while France had some good run into our area but apart Zidane they weren't able to have a decent shot.
We deserved to win, France faced strong teams during the whole second stage, and contratulations to them to have reached the final while everybody thought they wouldn't even reach the quarters. So be happy you had a good result, and ONCE IN LIFE put down your typical pride and admit that wasn't your World Cup, but Italian One
