Yeo out for several months |

Peterborough United striker Simon Yeo has been sidelined for several months after undergoing surgery to treat a serious facial injury.
The former Lincoln City hit-man needed 'several operations' to repair a fractured cheekbone, as well as damage to his eye socket. The 32-year-old was stretchered off midway through the second half of Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to Bury after colliding with The Shakers' on-loan goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Posh chairman Barry Fry fears the injury may rule summer signing Yeo out for the rest of the season. "Simon will definitely be out for several months, but we have been warned that he might not play again this season," Fry told the club's official website. "He has had several operations, one involving the eye socket and the other involving the cheekbone. "It was a very complicated operation and that is why it took place on Wednesday and not straight after the incident. He has been in a lot of pain. "I feel sorry for (manager) Keith Alexander, he has a great squad and Simon was a main player in that squad. "It is a big blow to lose him, but Keith will have the opportunity to bring a loan striker in, if he chooses to do so. That is up to him." |

Terrible news for Yeo. Pretty bad incident, copping a knee in the face. Hopefully all goes well in recovery.
