Day: Oxford feel invincible |
|
Oxford United defender Matt Day has admitted the Nationwide Conference league leaders feel invincible at the moment.
Jim Smith's side came into the new campaign confident of bouncing back into the Football League at the first attempt, and on current form they will be strong favourites to fulfil those ambitions. On Friday night, Day smashed in the late winner against St Albans City to keep United on top. "It was my first ever first-team goal and my first for Oxford," Day said. "It meant a lot to me, it put us back on top and it was brilliant. "On the way back to the dressing room the lads were lifting me up and the atmosphere in the dressing room was absolutely unbelievable. "We don't think we can lose at the moment. "We go away from home, play badly, yet still win. Go down to ten men twice and still win. "We're doing unbelievably, and hopefully it carries on." |
