Dundee United boss Gordon Chisholm has joined the race for Bristol City striker Lee Miller.

Aberdeen and Hearts have been in talks with Miller over personal terms, but the youngster now has a third party to consider in United.

Tannadice chairman Eddie Thompson has pledged to bankroll Chisholm's bid to boost United's chances next season and the manager is keen to lure him to Tayside.

Chisholm said: "I know the boy from Falkirk and I'm always interested in good players.

"Lee has good qualities and is at the right age so we'll wait and see what happens."

City chairman Steve Lansdown said: "Dundee United have made an enquiry about Lee Miller and we will wait to see if they come back with a written offer.

"If they can match the deals currently on the table from the two other clubs then they will be granted permission to speak to with Lee.

"It's in the player's best interests to explore every avenue available to him and Dundee United could yet be one of them."
