Davies happy with Everton switch |

Everton have wrapped up the signing of Tottenham midfielder Simon Davies.
Goodison manager David Moyes completed his swoop for Davies yesterday, with Everton paying an initial £3.5million to Tottenham to secure his services. Davies was keen to stress that Everton's city rivals are not the only club with a rich history and said: "When you look around the training ground you can see all the pictures of trophies the club has won and it is exciting. "Everton have a good history of winning things and it is a club on the up." A fourth-placed finish in the Premiership has earned Everton a place in the Champions League qualifiers next season. And Davies said: "My first ambition is to help the club get into the group stage of the Champions League. "Everybody is very ambitious and after the good season they have just had it has given them the opportunity to try and strengthen everywhere. It is an honour for me just to be here and to be a part of that." |
