Ok all, I would like to put the question forward to you guys. If Liverpool fail to get the chance of defending their Title next season as European Champions, who will you point the finger at as failing to make the right decision for Football?

Is it the FA for not being pro active and making the rules clear before-hand - as we all knew it was a possility after what happened in Spain with Real Madrid?

or

Is it Uefa's fault, for not having a rule in place which seeds the Champions to qualify automatically?

Have your say here...

champions should qualifly automatically with no thought that they might not be able to enter the compo as defending champions.

A competition without the defending champions isnt a conmpitition at all in my opinions.

The blame must rest with UEFA as it is too harsh to take away Evertons place on merit!

Champions should defend their title!

But shouldn't have the FA made the rules clear. In other words, stated at the beginning of the season that if a domestic team wins the Champions League, only the top 3 spots will be used for qualifying (taking that the winning club finish outside the top 4 as did this season).

I mean this has happened before in Spain, so it's something that the FA should have been prepared for - as were Spain.

I am making arguments for both, but you can see how Uefa could push the blame onto the FA.

at the start of the season Liverpool knew if they finished below 4th at the end of the season they wouldn't be in the CL. they never complained then, they failed to finish 4th or above, why should any club have to make way for a club who couldn't qualify, it's their fault for not finsihing 4th or higher, end of. if Liverpool had finished 4th and won the CL. would there have been an extra CL spot for the side below them? no, so why should their be an extra spot for them.

The rules cant be changed throughout the season , the FA should state in future that if a team wins the Champions League but dont make the top 4 they will be in the Champions League in place for the 4th placed team.

they done that in Spain for Real Madrid when they won it

Uefa or FA to Blame
