Mike Harris, owner of Welsh Premier
League champions TNS, has offered to face the Liverpool. He is a proposing a one-leg tie, possibly at the Millennium Stadium, with the winner going on to the first qualifying round place which is his club's by right. Harris believes it would help to raise the profile of the Welsh league and have the additional benefit of offering Liverpool a way of defending the title. |

It is not going ahead, the Welsh FA have refused to back the idea, and said that if TNS do not take their position in the Champions League Qualifiers, then it will be given to the runner up.

Blow to welsh football. It would have brought in great deals of cash for the game.
