Barcelona president Joan Laporta is ready to smash his wage structure to hold onto star pair Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o.
Both players still have three years left on their present deals, but Laporta is fearful of the pull of
Chelsea and wants to tie the pair down to longer agreements - worth a staggering £6 million-a-year.
Eto'o currently pockets £2.4 million-a-year, while Ronaldinho is earning £3.2 million-a-year.
Laporta's scheme flies in the face of Johan Cruyff's recommendation that Barca not commit to long term deals and keep their wages in check.
The Barca president also risks player morale, with the likes of Deco and Carles Puyol sure to be upset over the 'super contracts' being offered to their teammates.
