Hi,

I'm going away to Uni in a few weeks time, and I want to get into the team there. Unfortunately I havent played football seriously for a long time because of an injury so I'm not "sharp" to say the least.

I appreciate that the best way to get that sharpness back is to play competitively, but is there any single man excerices I can do to improve skills like short/long passing, dribbling, shooting and crossing?

Thanks
Alex

Fitness wise, i would suggest plenty of jogging and shuttle runs to improve both endurance and sprinting. For ball control there is the age old technique of kicking the ball against the wall and heading it against the wall. I would also look to do ball juggling.

None of these will compare to competitive games as you say but hopefully will get your fitness and touch back to a certain level
