BV Borussia Dortmund coach Bert van Marwijk has signed a new deal extending his contract by 12 months.
'Happy to stay'
Van Marwijk had been under contract until 30 June 2006, but he and the Bundesliga club have have agreed to prolong the arrangement by a further year. "I have always enjoyed working for Dortmund even though we have had some tough times to master and I am happy to stay here," the 53-year-old said.
'Delighted'
Dortmund president Dr. Reinhard Rauball added: “We are delighted that Bert van Marwijk has decided to accept the new deal.” Dortmund finished seventh this season with 15 wins and 55 points, narrowly missing out on a UEFA Cup place, but assuring European competition through the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
