Luxemburgo hits back at Figo |
|
Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has criticised winger Luis Figo.
Figo was annoyed at not having started a game in the last two months and this week said his relationship with the coach was virtually non-existent. "There is no dialogue with him," said Figo. "I don't understand his change of attitude and that is what hurts me. I always train at the maximum level, but logically there are moments where you don't understand what is happening because nobody gives you an explanation." However, Luxemburgo has hit back. "I have to speak because Figo spoke about me," he said. "He said we don't have a dialogue, we had one and there was no problem but it ended the day I dropped him. "He doesn't say hello to me any more, he doesn't say 'good day' or 'good evening'. I speak to him professionally, but personally it is something else." The situation does not appear to have affected Luxemburgo, who is happy to live with it. "I am the commander and he is the player," he added. "He has to respect me and there will be no problem. But outside of work, when I invite someone to my home, I will invite who I want to. "If we work together next season and he says 'hello' there will be no problem." |
