Glazer ready to sell Ferdinand to highest bidder |
|
New Manchester United owners, the Glazer family, are ready to sell defender Rio Ferdinand to the highest bidder.
The Telegraph says the Glazers will sell Ferdinand should be reject a new contract offer worth £100,000-a-week. Despite the recent insistence of manager Sir Alex Ferguson that the England defender would not be allowed to leave this summer, United are preparing to sell the 26-year-old to the highest bidder if their take-it-or-leave-it contract offer is rejected. The new owners are understood to be aghast at the prospect of Ferdinand, who cost £30 million, walking away from Old Trafford for nothing in 2007. |

Well if he isnt willing to accept that, then he doesnt want to be there. I beleive his career lays away from United and at Chelsea or Real maybe AC. If a player doesnt want to play for youre club you should get rid.

Same, he has stalled on contract talks which means he isnt fully commited to the team, good choice by Glazer, even though its a financial choice.....

Answer me this - what club would offer Ferdinand more than 100,000p/w?
The only club I can see doing that is Chelsea, and I dont think they will want him. Real could do with someone like Rio, but I dont think they will break the wage barrier for him either. They could be calling Rio's bluff here also. |

Ferdinand doesn't deserve £100000p/w no one does (potientially maybe) but then again thats football. I really can't see what there is discuss on his part, he should just snap their hand off, unless the reason is that he doesn't want to be there anymore. Maybe spending big in the summer would change his mind. If they aren't going to invest then it would be detrimental to his career. Ferdinand isn't one for loyalty though so that won't be a factor for him staying. (leeds)
It would help england if he went abroad particulary italy it would force him to develop weak aspects of his game. Rio & Nesta [beep!]! |

I dont blame Manchester United if they sell him.
If he wont accept there contract offer then he is making it clear he wants more money and he would go some where else to get it |

sell Rio, he could fund the entire midfield we need, 100k a week? you're having a larff! 100k a week for someone who shows no loyalty to the club who stood by him for 8 months, and still paid his wages then. a player who is well overrated and a player who should be down the england pecking order. sell him.

I disagree and agree with O Dogg. Rio should get fully commited and is a great player.

ferdinand is a great player but if hes not committed to da club he shld go for a gd amount of money to further improve the squad.
but he makes a hell lot of difference to the defence if he leaves fergie will haf to look for a replacement man. i cant see brown oshea marshalling the defence in front of van der sar. boo. |
