Benitez reiterates interest in Aimar

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reviving his bid for Valencia playmaker Pablo Aimar.

The Sun says Benitez has made Argie midfield superstar Aimar his No 1 summer target. He had an inquiry for the Valencia ace turned down at Christmas.

But unsettled Aimar, 25, is keen on a switch to the European champions. the midfielder is disappointed with last season's campaign which saw him spend a large part of it on the bench.

Valencia president Juan Soler and new sports director Javier Subirats may seek to cash in on the Argentine to fund a summer bid for a new, top class striker for coach Quique Sanchez Flores, who was appointed on Monday.

Ahhh a cracking player is Aimar, he use to be my favourite European player. Id love to see him the Premiership and with old companion Rafael Benitez, which could be a huge stepping stone for the youngster.

He certainly would be a great signing!

Hes a great player but im not sure whethere he could cut it in the English game, usually south american players dont make it in Britain.
