sorry laides, i hate to ask, but is womans football really any good?

i no that sounds horrible, but im very ignorant and naive to womans football, so was wondering if.......

1) the standard in this country is any good

2) if you prefer womans footy to mens?

Well it's all relative honestly
I prefere men's football but I enjoy women's football as well.
The big difference is speed of play basically other wise skills wise Kelly Smith is as good as Rooney_79586.shtml'>Wayne Rooney for example.

Actually she is better as they play in the same position and I have seen both play live a few time :
kelly is more intelligent and a more complete player.

fair enough, i havnt seen her play so cant rely comment to much on that but i cant rely believe she is a better player than Rooney!

maybe she is the female version of him but to say she is better is quite a statement!! he plays in a much tougher environment than smith surely? suppose the womans game and the mens game is very different though isnt it??

what aspects of smiths game would you say is better than Rooneys then?

Arsenal Ladies are good, England Ladies are good, then there are players scattered in Everton/Charlton/Blackburn, etc who are good, lol, but me personally prefer the Swedish league alot more competitive

twm, Agent Smith, Shlj are the experts on Arsenal Ladies Wink

their both different

nothing is really gonna help you Ben, everyone has their own opinion, best thing you could do would be go watch a game live or watch a game on the TV, then come up with your own conclusion

Steve020 went to watch a game, his thoughts: here

i dont think you can compare womens football to mens football , its like saying is mens tennis better than womens tennis . Any team from the mens league could beat any ladies side due to the physical differences i would imagine ... same in tennis .

ie ...would Arsenal Ladies have any chance against say Conference side Altrincham ...probably not .

or maybe the women on here disagree .

Physically no women cannot compete with men, that’s obvious! But taking away the physical attributes some of these female players have the skill and talent to rival most men. Ben you’d have no chance against Kelly Smith, against me; yea you’d kick my b-hind because am rubbish Laughing just messing

Seriously though, like Conner said they're two different games. At grass routes level girls and boys play together and there are many young girls who are better than the boys they play against. As you get older things change and the physical side becomes a factor.

Don’t judge women’s footie by comparing it to men’s footie, completely different. You wouldn’t compare women’s tennis to men’s tennis, or women’s boxing to men’s boxing, same with footie. It is what it is, either you like or you don’t, simple.

I watch men’s footie and respect and admire what they can do, same with the women. End of the day its football and all the players, regardless of gender, love the game for what it is.

Everyone has their own opinion and that’s fine with me, but if you have seen Kelly Smith, Malin Mostrom, Mia Hamm, etc play would have no choice but to be impressed by their talent Wink

That's my opinion anyways, check out a game, if you like then great if you don't then fine. Its all football.

I asked Agent S what is women's footie like nearly a year ago - she said come and see for yourself.
So I did - and I'm now a fan. It's not the same as men's, but a great game to watch, and cheaper too.

I have a season tic for Arsenal ladies - £10.
I paid £46 for last Arsenal men's game Wink

You are right as women are not physically as strong as men.
It is the same in tennis for example.
But on the tactical point of view and quality of play, lots of team in the Coca Cola divisions
are not as good as the Arsenal Ladies and I have been to a few lower divisions football game and it is crap.

is womans football any good?
