La Liga | Sun, 22 Oct 06, 20:00 | Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

El Derby, El Gran Classico, one of the biggest club games in the world... call it what you want: Real Madrid-Barcelona is nearly upon us! Very Happy

What do you think the score will be?

Mr. Green

As long as we beat them, I don't mind the final score.
But I'll say 2-1 for Real

Edit --> Morav, what do you think?

Aye its a no bad game not as good as the Old Firm though Laughing

2-0 Barca for me just becuase they'll be fired up after there defeat to Chelsea and they have the players to rip Madrid apart.

Moravcik, it is the biggest game.
I dont have a very good feeling about this game. Eto'o is needed to crash Real, but he is not available.
I would be happy for a draw.

2-1 also! Real will score, but at the same time they always give away a goal!

Its going to be a tight game.. Both teams have contrasting results in terms of their European campaign and the domestic one.. Barcelona lost in midweek against Chelsea; Real trashing the Romanian champions.. But i think we all know that games like these, don't exactly weigh on form-more on a single act of brilliance usually settles it..
As a REAL fan. i'd like to see Real Madrid win, whatever the result maybe.. but i doubt Barca will be pushovers..The midweek game against Chelsea, i thought that Messi played well in the first half.
It's going to take sometime before Real can be considered a major threat to Barca again. All the talk so far, only serves to cover the real picture. The club is in ruins compared to Vicente Del Bosque's reign 5 years ago.. It was in danger of a critical meltdown then.
It would only be fair that we give Capello a season to get his foundations right & i do believe he's the man to do it-it needs patience and time. The club's foundations are very fragile at the moment, rushing to win anything will only make it worse.

2-0

Raúl (who has scored 5 goals in the last 5 matches)
Van Nistelrooy

And they both shot to sticks Shocked An entertaining match. Real played better during the first twenty minutes and the whole second half in my opinion. Barcelona wanted the possesion, but hardly had any clear ocassion. Seems that the super porwerful Barcelona depends on one player to score goals. They'll miss Eto'o.

I watched the second half, im impressed with how Van Nistelrooy is playing. he was unlucky to hit the bar.

When I saw Capello starting Robinho and Raul, I knew it was over for us.
Like I said, without Eto'o we are not going to win against big teams. Eidur is just not the answer.
Raul, by the way the referee gave you the game. Emerson should be sent off for stamping on Messi. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Still, we are going to bully the little teams while waiting for Eto'o s recovery. I hope he will be in form when we play you in Nou Camp. REVENGE is more sweeter, my friend.

Great result,a really morale boosting one..After all the hype before the game, ended well for Real.. After the past years where all the hype ended in disappointment for Real fans, this one was a real reprive..
Football is a 50-50 game, sometimes referee's miss incidents we criticise them, when they are too stringent, we mock them..It's part of the game, part of the package of the beautiful game..
Eto's the key behind Barca's sucess all this time, his understanding with Ronaldinho is the backbone of the offense.. No surprise that Ronaldinho is playing out of form at the moment, Eider is just not the pace player he can relate to..
Don't write out Barca, saying goes, a wounded animal is a dangerous one.. Real however will be riding on the confidence from this result, but it's only a single game and there's still a long way to go..I'll be interested to see the results against other teams, Valencia & Lyon..
Robinho seems to be playing very well for Real, it's still early to say, but he's doing well..
All said, great result..

The ref gave us the match, Afrinux? Laughing Don't steal my sentence! Laughing
Zambrotta should have been sent off, look what he did to Robinho. By the way, I won the bet, I told you Robinho and Raúl would play! Mr. Green

DCM, good post there. It is too early to get disappointed, plus we still top the league.
Is your sentence trade marked? Laughing Anytime Barcelona wins you say the same thing. But lets be honest, if we had a better finisher yesterday we should have won.
Well done on your bet. But why suddenly Capello decided to use them both, except of cassano?

Afrinux, I watch all the Real Madrid matches, this starting team was proved in Bucharest and we played a good football. You say that if you had Eto¡o you would have won. My answer is YOU WISH! lol
What if we have had Ronaldo? Barcelona is called the best team in the world today, they can't depend this much on just one player!

PS. Yeah, my sentence is a trade mark Laughing

It was a poor Madrid/Barca game in my opinion, Ive seen many better games than that. Barca were poor and Eidur up front was terrible, how Barca miss Larsson. Eto'o was also missed but he's out for a long time so that was already a cert.
