Ex Derby County manager Geroge Burley has resigned of his managerial post today. For all Derby County fans, this is upsetting and has come as a great shock. Burley who joined Derby March 2004 and saved them from relegation, and then with his smart ideas in the transfer market he got them into the play-offs to the Premiership.

Burley resigned after saying his job was "untenable". The Derby board have said "we gave George what he wanted, and we are upset that he has left us" according to Derby County, George Burley left with out clear reasons of resignation. According to rumours he left because defender Tom Huddlestone was sold against his wishes.

Director of football Murdo Mackay has also offered his resignation, but Derby have not accepted it yet. Favourite to get the job is Lennie Lawrence who departed with Cardiff earlier this month. Burley had 1 more year left on his contract which was agreed after he kept them up in 2004.

Lennie Lawrence who? the favourite is Billy Davis as he is out of contract at Preston North End. Its believed if he becomes the new manager Derby are set to sign David Nugent form Preston for £500,000.00

Its also believed that George Burley left because he got one of the players wifes pregnent

Also that he beat up the players. But £5,000,000 for David Nugent thats a joke !! maybe £500,000 at the most. Lennie Lawrence is favourite as it was on Ladbrookes website.

It was thought that it was a players wife that was pregnant but its even worse. Apparantly George Burley has got the chairmans daughter pregnant!!! Yikes
