West Brom have been urged to approach Monaco striker Mohammed Kallon as he "thinks very highly" of Bryan Robson and would 'relish' a move.
Baggies boss Robson is looking to strengthen his strikeforce, but has so far been thwarted in attempts to lure Crystal Palace hitman Andrew Johnson and Tottenham's Fredi Kanoute to The Hawthorns. Chelsea forward Mateja Kezman has also been mentioned, but is unlikely to swap London for the Black Country - so the comments from Kallon's representative may trigger Robson's interest. The 25-year-old is rated in the £3.5m bracket, which is well within Robson's budget for his summer spending plans. And Gianluca Tizi, a spokesman for Kallon's agent Claudio Vigorelli, said: "I am aware West Brom are looking for a striker and Mohammed Kallon has made it well known he would like to move to England. "I know Bryan Robson well and I know that my player thinks very highly of him as a trainer. "There has been an interest from other clubs but as yet I've heard nothing concrete from West Brom. "But if they were to discuss matters with Monaco I would personally recommend to the player that he accept a move. "The player is not happy at the moment and wants to seek a new challenge. He has played in Italy and in the French League and a move to the Premiership is a probability," he added on icbirmingham. |
