Lampard contributes nothing to our national team. Occasionally he scores the odd tap in for his club but usually he'll clear the ball into the stands behind the goal when his team are in a good attacking position. But the fact is, McClaren hasn't got the balls to drop useless Lampard probably because he plays for Chelski. Ok, ok maybe he's not 100 % sh_ite, but on his day Gerard is World Class and needs to be played centrally where he can do more damage. Carrick/Hargreaves need to replace 'w a n k tankard' and this will be the ideal defensive compliment to Stevie G. Finally, to complete the midfield quartet, Lennon and Cole can take the ball past people and get behind defenses - something that Beckham was incapable of.
