Deco ready to commit to Barca

Barcelona midfielder Deco revealed he has received offers from several clubs wanting to pry him away from the Nou Camp this summer, but insists he has no plans to quit the Primera Liga champions.

The Brazilian-born Portuguese international was a key member of Barca's championship-winning side last season and the diminutive playmaker, who joined the club 12 months ago from Porto, is ready to show his commitment to the Catalan giants by penning a new contract.

"I am very happy here and there are only a few details at the moment to sort out before a new contract is signed," said Deco.

"I have had offers but I am not listening to them because I want to stay at Barca and I have already told this to my agent (Jorge Mendez).

"The club want me to stay here for many years and I do not want to talk with the press about the offers I have had as this is something to be done in private."

A brilliant player he is and there isn't much better than him out there. Deco has worked his socks out for Barca and all he deserves is a new improved contract at the Bernabeau.

I dislike this dirty player, he cant run but is very good at most other thnigs, he should stay though as he is good enough, but i do think there is better out there.

I totally disagree, he is supberd runner of the ball. He is top quality and I dont think there is much better maybe Joe Cole, Robben and Duff maybe Joaquin.

I emant he doesnt have good pace, hes a slow runner in comparison.

Quality player - id have him in my midfield!
