Yeovil have confirmed they have given Derby permission to approach manager Gary Johnson.
Johnson has guided the League One newcomers to two promotions in three years.
He only signed a new three-year deal with Yeovil in April but has now been given the chance to talk to Derby, who are managerless following George Burley's resignation last week.
A statement on the club's official website said: "The board of Yeovil Town Football Club have given Derby County Football Club permission to make an official approach to Gary Johnson regarding the vacant manager's position at Pride Park."
