Colchester United midfielder Greg Halford is being courted by Premiership clubs.

Hull City boss Peter Taylor revealed to the Daily Mail: "I think that because of his England call-up [to the U21s] we could not afford him now but he's a good player.

"He's a good lad and he had a great time in Toulon, but from what I'm hearing there are four Premiership clubs looking to him rather than teams from our division so we've probably missed out on that one.

"Now I've worked with him, I think he's a midfield player and there's less urgency for us to recruit in midfield."
