Huntelaar!!!

Newcastle United Football Club have confirmed their interest in Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch international striker is one of the most sought after players in European football, after becoming prolific during his time with both Heerenveen and current club Ajax.

With Michael Owen and Shola Ameobi out with long-term injuries, the Magpies are in desperate need for a replacement striker – and manager Glenn Roeder has revealed his admiration for Huntelaar.

"Like a lot of Premiership managers, Huntelaar is a player I greatly admire, but Ajax insist he is not for sale," Roeder told the Evening Chronicle, with rumours mounting that an offer in the region of £15million is being planned.

Can't see it happening to be honest but it would be a major coup if we could get him. I would like him along with Mexes and Chivu in January and maybe another hard midfielder like Duscher.

i never heard anything about that player....well i did see him playing for neatherland but never seen him playing for his club

he would be fantastic signing for us. would take a lot for him to come to us though, celtic are after him. 15 mill is another big pay out though for someone who might not produce enough for us. but thats freddy's decision.

I think we should go down the Portsmouth route and get older quality players for nothing then splashing out more money for players who have never played in EPL, Sibireski is Toons top scorer and how much did he cost.

Well, we need all the help we can get on top. And Huntelaar is absolutely a decent player for us to sign.

i think this guy is ace!!! i seen videos of him play and hes awesome... baring in mind hes only young he could only get better

he has reportedally said both United ad Toon want him and he would prefer a move to United as they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and he would also like to emulate Ruud Van Nistelrooys achivements.

i think he would go to Newcastle united and one thing for sure that Man United arnt the biggest club in the world
