Tottenham agree deal on Routledge |
|
Crystal Palace and Spurs have agreed an undisclosed compensation package allowing winger Wayne Routledge to move to White Hart Lane in July.
The out-of-contract winger is believed to have agreed terms with Spurs, but the move had been delayed with Palace reportedly wanting £3m in compensation. Spurs have had two previous bids for the 20-year-old Routledge turned down, including one of about £2m in January. Because of his age the Palace winger is not available on a free transfer. Routledge played in four of England's five games at the recent under-21 tournament in Toulon, scoring in the victory over Tunisia. Earlier this week Spurs agreed a deal to sign Leeds midfielder Aaron Lennon, subject to a medical and agreeing terms. He made his debut aged just 16 as a substitute against West Brom in the League Cup in 2001 and scored within a minute of his first league start, against Wolves in 2002. |
