Wanted Liverpool to win this one, although it was nice to see Rosicky finally give an all out performance and grab 2 very well taken goals, Arsenal hardly got the ball out their own half in the last 20 minutes, and Aurelio nearly scored what would've been a classic cup goal.

wahey .... Smile great win for us , i was surprised by Almunia being in goal but he was hardly troubled during the match ...only a few shots caused him to go down quick for the ball ...the rest were fairly easy catches or went well wide ...the same for Dudek really , apart from the three goals we hardly made him work that hard during the match .

You are right Yeekiat , Dudek maybe was off his line for the first goal and Rosicky should have been closed down for his second . As for the goal by Henry , maybe Carragher should have just knocked the ball out of play but most times he would have won that ball ...Henry is however special and just used his pace to get around Caragher and went on to cooly slot the ball past Dudek .

I must admit though up until then we were struggling a bit to hold Liverpool off after they had got a goal back and were looking dangerous ...a few nervous moments there .

Finally though despite Liverpool probably having the most possesion it is goals that wins matches and so Arsenal are through to the next round .... Cool

Yeah, it was a pretty good game in the end. The first half hour odd was a "minger" as Hansen put it, but once Arsenal stamped their class with two brilliantly crafted goals, then Liverpool were truly on the back foot. All the pundits were rightly harping on about the lack of tackling for the second goal when Liverpool had 9 players back only for Rosicky to plant it in the corner, but they didn't mention names. Watch it again and see Gerrard, the darling of English football, half heartedly stick out a pathetic leg to stop him, it made me laugh! He's the skipper for crying out loud, set the example!!

Liverpool, by pumping an incredible amount of long balls into the box managed to get back in the game, it was like watching wimbledon at times. But Arsenal's counter attacking threat always carried some potency with Henry and Van Persie's pace. What a goal too, but the less said of Carragher's defending the better. I was surprised Bellamy didn't get used, as this would have posed the Arsenal defence with a different kind of problem. They knew the second ball after Crouch's flick ons were crucial, and they dealt with it in the main, the goal aside. Having said all this, if Liverpool got the penalty which they should have got, then it might have been a different game. And if Aurelio stuck it in the corner for 2-2.

But in the end, the better footballing team won. From a Yiddo...biting my lip...congratulations Arsenal.

Dudek is not a reserve keeper... He's got enough talent to play every week... It's a bit hard to sit on the bench for months on end and then suddenly get a tap on the shoulder, here keep against Arsenal... "especially" for a keeper... Why won't Liverpool just let him go... Dudek has been keen to leave for around 2years but Benitez is being an a$$...

Oh well, About the game, Rosicky is finally starting to show his real colours... bad defending from Liverpool though. It's like Liverpool has lost it's soul and fight this season... dunno how to explain it...And Gerrard is not the same, maybe the world cup scarred him...lol

HUGE dissappointment!

Garcia....OMG, I just don't understand why he's even on the starting line up or the team for that matter....he just F's everything up....there was at least 4 freakin fouls from him and on him as well....what a waste of time....

Henry's goal was an excellent sole effort BUT...I would say he got lucky b/c the Dudek missed an easy save.

Huge dissappointment for Liverpool:(

Kuyt played his heart out as usual...cheers to him

True it was poor defending, but Carragher has saved us that many times he doesn't deserve criticism,he was trying to keep the ball in to save Arsenal from wasting time and simply got it wrong, these things happen but no way am i gonna criticise Carragher..

Why should anyone be exempt from criticism? If a player makes a mistake then they should be criticised, I'd prefer that and it would keep them on their toes.

That's like saying about a murderer, 'well he didn't kill anyone for 31 years of his life, he was a great person and did alot for people so I think we'll let him off with this one'. Laughing

There were at least five other players around Rosicky who could have nicked the ball away from Rosicky. I don't think Gerrard is to be blamed, it was very poor defending and communication on our part.

I also think Alonso have a solid appeal for a penalty there though it didn't look like a clear cut on first sight. I'm not extremely bitter about not getting the penalty though. With so many corners and crosses you would expect at least one to get popped in. (Oh well, we did get one).

Overall, good performance but poor finishing and defending. And when was the last time Liverpool scored from a corner? We should really be taking advantage of these things.

Liverpool verses Arsenal
