I have a question regarding France
- hasn't Soubeyrand retired?
Shlj posted in the "Pichon Retires" thread
that she was retiring as well and now she's in Algarve Question
Is she back or has she never called it a day?

This can't be right, unless they changed the rules. Winner of group C plays the best 4th placed team from the A and B groups for the 7th and runner up of groups C the other 4th placed team from A and B. And playing for the 5th placed should be the 3rd placed teams from A and B (Norway and Finland).

That looks right.

And by the way I think your predications are right too, a bit conservative (I think you have the higer ranked team as winners in all of the games), but that is the way I se it too.

Well I wouldn't mind Denmark to go all the way and beat USA,
I actually said a few days ago that they might be a black horse of the tourney Wink
But USA are a strong team so I think the Cup is theirs.

Another match I have doubts about is Norway v Finland.
I think the Finns have everything to beat the fellow Scandis.
Again - I put Norway higher though, as they are more experienced
and technically a bit better side Smile

We'll see what happens Wink

What a tournament! Shocked The weirdest Algarve Cup in the history! Shocked

The Germans got beaten by France and now Italy as well Shocked
but managed to beat Denmark who are now in the final Confused
Iceland who should struggle against China, beat them by 4-1
and Ireland who shouldn't have bigger problems with Portugal,
beat them only by one goal in penalties Neutral

Today's results:

11/12 Ireland (5) 0-0 (4) Portugal
9/10 Iceland 4-1 China
7/8 Italy 1-0 Germany
5/6 Norway 2-0 Finland
3/4 Sweden 3-1 France
1/2 USA 2-0 Denmark

Final standings:
Champions: USA
Runners-up: Denmark
3rd place: Sweden

4th: France
5th: Norway
6th: Finland
7th: Italy
8th: Germany
9th: Iceland
10th: China
11th: Ireland
12th: Portugal
