Obviously someone will be signed up. But who will it be ? It is just about the timing, they cant ign people to late they need them to gel with the team before the new season.

Would take more than pre season friendlys usually for a player to gel into a team fully anyway so its not too important.

I can't see wenger buying any big names for big money, however he has been known to be very shrewed in the transfer market in past seasons. He can pick up some top class bargains who turn into world stars. Only time will tell though.

i dunno i think the Arsenal board know that the fans want a couple of big names this year who can adjust to the premiership and help us get bk our crown, but then again our faith's always in wenger he is the daddy!! CUM ON Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even the biggest names can take ages to adapt with any team, especially if not used to the premiership, some longer than others. But Wenger generally has an excellent idea about what he wants, and the more he's paying, the more trouble he takes - apparently Jose Antonio was viewed 40 times!
So it's fine with me whoever he gets.
Remember - who'd heard of Vieira?

Totally agree, Wenger is top class at purchasing players. I knew Henry would always be World Class when seeing him at Monaco, and everyone had heard of Pires, but your spot on with the likes of Viera, nobody would have thought he would turn out to be the player he is.

Looks like Hleb is coming. Not exactly well known himself, but a great player.

They certainly need bolstering!

Cannot see anyone other than Hleb coming though - the youngster may have their chance this season!

Robinho in the Premiership you're having a larf!

he's built like a pipe-cleaner and he's got no upp body strength. he'd be pushed over every time he comes up against a defender. Adriano is a proper physical striker. Robinho needs to bulk up ALOT.

oh come on he is. i'm not saying he isn't any good. far from it he's a great talent. he just couldn't handle the premiership, it's too physical and he has no upper body strength.

Wot u on about m8 ur chatting **** he could easily handle the premier league and he'd do well for Arsenal as for a "pipe cleaner" look at peter crouch he can score goals and look at the size and build of zola and how well he did nuff said.

he also has no strength.P eter Crouch does have strength. you only rate him because he's linked to the ARSE. and his finishing isn't brilliant for a so called striker you could get a striker with better finishing than Robinho for the same price.

I thought Robinho might be too small for the Prem, but in the Confederations Cup he's shown that, despite his size, he is very difficult to get off the ball. I think he'd do great with us, but I don't think we'll get him now. He's just too expensive. Real can afford to throw away money like that, we can't.

Doesnt matter anyway, Arsenal cant match the consistency of Chelsea in the premiership and we all know they aint gonna do nothing in Europe.

Consistency? This is the team who were unbeaten for 49 games, have been in the top two now for years and have been in the f.a cup final bout 4times out of the last 5 years is that not consistent in-nuff? As ive said before just because Chelsea have one the league which may i point out was the first time in wot 50 years ur all up their **** they aint won the Champions League ,were was they in the f.a cup? u talk about Chelsea as if they are the best in the world when they aint, let see how consistent they are coz they wont defend their crown or win the f.a cup or Champions League so stop knocking Arsenal and get ur facts right .
