Everton are a far greater club than Liverpool will ever be ......... if you don't believe me , get a job with both clubs , and see at first hand how both clubs conduct themselves .
In the way they treat their employees ; the way they talk and think of their fans ( in conversations behind closed doors ) ; in the way the players interact with the other members of staff etc etc ......... Everton are light years ahead .
And before you suggest I'm talking [beep!] , no I haven't worked for both clubs but my wife has , and I've visited with her and seen and heard things ; plus she's told me stories of what has happened at work .
So yes , Liverpool might have won more trophies , but a football club should be much more than just a trophy collecing machine , it should have a heart and soul ; and give back to the local community ; and Everton lead the way .

Oh, terry, you are a sublime example of a fool. Yes, I grant you there are people amongst the Everton support who like having a go at Liverpool, but your fans are the biggest load of idiots ever.
Take what you just said.
1- You went on about Liverpool 'lifting trophies', which equates roughly to the 5 times.
2- You said we spend all our time slagging you off, which roughly equates to the Bitter Blue thing.
3- you signed off by calling us all an expletive.
A classic case of Liverpool fan syndrome if you ask me. Now, first I don't know what you are doing on Everton's thread in the first place, perhaps you could answer me this. Second, when it comes to Liverpool Football Club, I and many other Evertonians simply don't care enough to hate (You are like the next door neighbour who if we ignore enough you will hopefully go away). Thirdly and finally, yes, I acknowledge the fact Liverpool have far more in the trophy cabinet, I am not an idiot and I do have quite a lot of knowledge on the history of both clubs, I don't need you to tell me this. However, the point is, had you not been winning all these trophies, all the foolish fans from outside Liverpool who know very little about football would not go to Anfield every week to watch a team they have delusions about winning the league because they did it a few times 17+ years ago.
Everton on the other hand still nearly fill Goodison every week despite what has been a very lean spell over the last 20 years for the club, with only one major trophy. This is because, as George Best pointed out Everton fans are some of the 'most knowledgable in the country'.
On a serious topic terry, Fernando Torres is a great signing for you guys. I saw him for Atletico on many occasions and he should really bolster Liverpool's forward line. Do you think 2008 will be the year? It would be fitting what with Liverpool being Capital of Culture.

I know 2 people who work / have worked for both clubs . One is my wife , an Evertonian ; one is the mother of a good friend , and she is a Liverpool supporter .

They both say that we're light years ahead in the way the club is run ; the way people are treated ; the friendliness of the Directors to the average employee ; the innovative business ideas , the general ambience of the place .

I suppose it could be argued that these things are part of our problem on the pitch , many of the club's decision makers are not ruthless enough

Well, maybe you are right nickat01, but I reckon on the pitch Everton are starting to look pretty healthy once again. As an Evertonian, this is the happiest I have been with the side since 1996. We have had some decent players, but we have never had this many decently aged, decent players all together at once who really gel well as a team. If Everton hold this squad for another few years, we should reap the rewards.
In my view, Joseph Yobo's development was the highlight of last season. He had always been a classy performer, but now he has added consistency to that, I reckon we have one of the best centre halves in the league just now, especially along with Joleon. It is abit gutting to only have one major signing all summer, but Jags is an excellent signing and I would be more concerned if they were doing the old Everton thing of frittering money away on any old journeyman, eg. Ginola, Gascoigne, Gough (who turned out to be very good in the end) and Dacourt (in my book one of the most over rated players ever. Oh, I forgot good old Alex Nyarko.
It is sometimes good to be patient in the transfer market and Everton have shown they are willing to be just that. With the current squad we have, I am a very happy individual with the current side.

oh,Gaius Demetrius i can assure you that 99.9% of all Evertonians are hateful and do
spend all season hoping the reds get beat.also you state that because some Liverpool fans come further a field that makes us a lesser club.Im affrayed that comes with territory of being a successful club ask the mancs.I am born and bred in Liverpool and
have supported the reds all my life and 90% of my friends are all blues and i can guarantee that their hole season rest on weather they take points off us throughout the season.

but on a lighter note to answer your question i think torres will be a hit but next season
i still think manu and Chelsea have better squads and are more consistant.

ps thx for a more educated response better than the peoples club crap the previous two were chatting.

good luck for the new season for all .ynwa Cool

In the parts I actually could make sense of that post I found them to be wrong, wrong and erm more wrong.

However, what did suprise me was to find you're a Liverpool supporter AND a scouser.... Now that is a shocker.

I think he was talking about us , bluenose ; although the appalling spelling and grammatical innaccuracies made it difficult to comprehend .

But like most RS fans , he's pretty clueless about supporting a team and the symbiotic nature of that support .

Let's just leave the muppets to wave their silly flags .

I like seeing Liverpool do well, they're brilliant to watch when they play well imo. Your friends must be a little bit bitter or just simple like you. Wink
