preparing for coaching

im 14 and i would like to know when and how i could take coaching school

I'll tell him lads.
1) You could look through all the previous posts.

2) You need to wait until you are 16 before you can do your Level 1 in Coaching Football. this is a fairly easy course to pass.

From there you must get involved in coaching on a regular basis, then after 2 or 3 years you can do your Level 2 in Coaching Football. This is much harder, takes 6 months and has no guarantee of a pass - in fact often less than 50% pass..

This course will allow you to do Football in the Community type work, half term holidays etc which is paid work, but few hours.


Right now you can take your refs course and start reffing games up to a certain age - get to know the local scene and various problems and rewards it brings.

Finally, if you can or do still play, CARRY ON!!! You will learn a lot from playing in games, but also from watching your coaches sessions and others for ideas. It will also be of great benefit to you to give up your evenings after school and watch/help out at a local club.
