Chelsea have beaten the Toon, Didier Drogba a half time sub scored the winner in the 75th minute.
It was unlucky on Newcastle who hit the bar through Sibierski in the first half.
We defended admirably, with the squad we had out many expected us to roll over, we did not we showed great determination and character, bring on Watford.

I am obviously dissapointed but nevertheless I am a very proud Newcastle fan e had our momments in the game and defended like warriors just think we narrowly lost 1-0 just think if we had the likes of Emre Solano Ameobi Bernard parker Owen Duff Dyer etc avaialable then we could well ahve won the game. I think the future is really bright for us and we should fear no side. I cannot wait for the day we ahve all our players fit and hopefully by then we will have signed more class players. We should be extremely optimistic about the future.

Thanks mate I am sure the rest of Newcastle fans around the world are gutted but proud yet again we had no luck however we cannnot moan and we have to pick ourselves up for a masssive week where we are at home to 3 london sides in teh space of 7 days I cannot remember that happening for a long time. The good news is we could have parker Dyer and Solano back.

4th thread on the game, lovely Rolling Eyes

We played well and can hold our heads high. We weren't embarrased and our confidence wasn't shattered. Bring on next game.

I think GR used the wrong tactics in only playing Martins upfront and 'trying' to counter attack. It allowed Chelsea to play their way and control the game. This is the one fault witg GR, sometimes he has no faith in his or the teams ability to play football and he reverts to a defensive style. With the squad they had out there in the 1st half we coulda caused some probs if we tried to play. But no, we'll sit back, hope to break down all their attacks(which lets be honest they did quite well for 70mins) and then try to 'break' with our 1 forward upfront. Not very well thougt out I think. However, we did make the 'choosen one' almost eat his words, because he HAD TO bring on his big guns to get those 3 pts he soo easily though he'ld get. So well done for holding out for 70+mins. But I still am not sure of Glen as I beleive once again, he choose the totally wrong formation and tactics for this match. I honestly think that if he, GR that is, had a bit more conviction and agression, we couldda really embarrassed these guys. Hope Nzogs isn't too bad. And why play Rossi when in 2 weeks time he will play no part in Newcastles present or future. If you are dealing with injuries, you use players who will be there to cover injuries, Rossi will not be here come Jan, so whats the point in using him? Use a player who you can use time and time again, forget getting Rossi match practice for fergie, think of the future status of our team Glen.
